History[edit]

Kamuinet is first featured in case#4:kamuidrome when Tomonori Furuya encounters the website while using an internet search engine to browse different websites. As he enters the home page, he browses the 'History' section where a list of his 'estimated criminal record' is present. The years the crimes were committed and his age at the time of committing them are present. Later, he browses the 'Profile' section which lists his basic information. Lastly, he views the 'Quotes' section where the only quote present on the page is the phrase 'Kill the past.' While Furuya browses the website, an image of a bald Kamui is present.

Later in the chapter, Furuya begins to rile up the other users of Kamuinet. One user named Henry start threatening to kill him, while others tell him to leave. Furuya begins to talk tough, telling Henry to "bring it the fuck on if you think you can!" In response, Henry tells user Jack to "go for it" and Jack asks sanderson for the log in order to kill Furuya. User Neutral warns him saying he cant win this and that these guys "are net junkies." After Neutral leaves the chatroom, the other users ask each other if they're ready after finding the log. After Furuya shows shock in his message, the other users begin to provoke him further, insulting him. Jack begins to send the log, as the other users prepare to kill him. His address is then posted in the Kamuichat.

Kamuinet's "Get out!" message.

Later, on August 26th, 1999, Furuya began hacking into the Kamuinet, destroying it in the process. A "Get out!" message was displayed on the homepage for anyone who tried to access the website. This upsets Neutral, prompting her to send him an email about it. In the email, she talks about how he is worse than the other users and accuses him of trying to become a dictator.

In report*4:AI, S. Inohana emails Tokio Morishima about the Kamuinet, talking about how a link to the website was the only data that was made public after a large X-level data breach.

Tokio writes in his memo about how he doesn't care for Kamuinet, and how he doesn't want to get involved with the website. He describes it as being "totally full of shit." Tokio later calls Yuu asking where Kamuinet is, telling him she'll ask someone in the chat she's with. She says the top URL is constantly changing because of copycats and fake sites. She gives Tokio the link "www.shineshinedan.com/" and gives him the backdoor password "indon oyamaoku."

Trivia[edit]
