The LB dollar (LB$) is the currency used in the first three installments of the No More Heroes series. Despite taking place in the United States of America, the LB dollar is almost always used instead of the US dollar, for unknown reasons. The LB dollar seems to be worth far less than the US dollar, similar to the Japanese yen. Similarly, LB dollars come in both bill and coin form. Travis Touchdown acquires LB dollars through killing enemies as well as taking jobs around Santa Destroy, which allows him to purchase clothing, weaponry, and the privilege of challenging the next assassin in the United Assassins Association. In Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, Travis even acquires LB dollars in the real world through killing bugs in Death Drive Mark II games, although these are essentially a formality as of a patch that allows you to instantly unlock all shirts if you so choose.

In No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, Million Gunman's money gun fires what appear to be million LB$ bills when examined. They depict Million himself's face on the front and the Santa Destroy star symbol on the back, and are strongly based on the US 1 dollar bill. The text on top reads "THE UNITED STATES OF SANTADESTROY".

Meaning of "LB"[edit]

What "LB" stands for, if anything, is never revealed. It may be a roundabout joke on the British pound, another form of currency, which shares its name with the American weight measurement "pounds" which is abbreviated as "lbs". Considering where we are, we must also wonder if it stands for "Elbow dollars", with LB either referring to the two letters in the middle of the word "elbow", or even standing for "L-Bow".

"LB.ARMY" is written on the side of Dr. Letz Shake's Earthquake Maker. In its upgraded version in No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, "LB.AIR FORCE" is written instead.
