No More Heroes III is an action game for the Nintendo Switch developed by Grasshopper Manufacture. It is the fourth No More Heroes game and a direct sequel to Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes.

Gameplay[edit]

No More Heroes III features similar gameplay to previous games in the series, in which player character Travis Touchdown does battle against various enemies culminating in encounters with eccentric boss characters. Like in No More Heroes, between official ranking battles Travis must take on side jobs to earn money in order to challenge the next opponent. A large map featuring multiple different locations is available to explore in order to access the various missions of the game.

Story[edit]

Continuing various plot threads from Travis Strikes Again, No More Heroes III follows the story of Travis Touchdown having returned to Santa Destroy, which has the sights of Damon Ricotello's company Utopinia set on it for urban expansion. Soon enough, Damon's childhood friend, an alien named FU, invades the city with the desire to take over the Earth. With him are numerous other alien criminals, members of the Galactic Superhero Rankings. Travis Touchdown battles his way through the rankings to protect his home.

Development[edit]

No More Heroes III was originally announced with a tentative 2020 release, with Travis mocking the idea in the trailer ("2020 release? good luck!"). He was validated when the game was delayed to 2021.
