Lily Bergamo was an early name and concept for the game that would become Let It Die. Although the gameplay concepts behind Let It Die are said to be relatively unchanged from Lily Bergamo, the story and aesthetic appear to have been very different, with character designs being handled by Yusuke Kozaki, who also worked on several other Grasshopper games.

Lily Bergamo's protagonist was a woman named Tae Ioroi who appeared to be wrapped in bandages. The game took place in the year 2043 in an unknown setting, though it was stated to not be Japan.[1][2] A few pieces of concept art by Kozaki were released, as well as a trailer that showed Tae appearing to fight some kind of monster.

Usage in later works[edit]

Tae's abilities showcased in the trailer, where she could control the bandages attached to her hands, were later exhibited by G in Kurayami Dance.

One concept art for the game depicted a character who resembled Shinobu standing in front of a wooden building in the rain while another character (possibly Tae) is on the ground in front of her. This is similar to Shinobu's portrayal in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, in which she trains children at a dojo in a poor town.

For April Fools 2017, Let It Die held a Lily Bergamo crossover event where you could obtain a Lily Bergamo Decal - however, it had no effect other than a selling price of 10,000 Kill Coins, which is the same amount paid for the decal itself.
