Mayumi Fujita is a character who appears in Twilight Syndrome: Search. She was a troubled high school student that was in an illicit relationship with her music teacher Ryuichi Okuno.
Appearance and Personality
Mayumi is never fully seen in game thus her appearance isn't fully known. Mayumi was seemingly very interested in music and seemed to have a rather obsessive personality, falling for Ryuichi Okuno and loving him to an obsessive degree. Her obsession however caused her so much pain and turmoil that she ended up taking her own life.
History
Mayumi Fujita was a second year student attending Hinashiro High School. She was part of the broadcasting club as well as the choir. At some point she engaged in an affair with her music teacher Ryuichi Sakamoto and grew gradually more obsessed with him. Using her position in the broadcasting club she would announce coded messages over the school's PA system to schedule romantic meetings with Okuno. On her seventeenth birthday Okuno gave her a silver ring adorned with a moonstone. Afterwords, Fujita stole the shoes of a girl that bad mouthed Okuno and dropped them into the incinerator. Her obsession clearly began to grow when she began to suspect Okuno of having feelings for another student named Kaiwai and scrawled a long series of messages on the wall in his office. At some point their relationship began to become more distant as she was repeatedly stood up by him. This tragically culminated with her taking her own life by hanging herself in the music room. Despite already being dead her voice called Okuno to the music room over the PA. He was the first person to find her body.
Following her death numerous rumors began to circulate about her spirit haunting the music room and of her illicit affair with Okuno. Mika Kishii, Yukari Hasegawa and Chisato Itsushima decided to investigate these rumors. Yukari prodimatly wanted to disprove the rumor that the affair led to her suicide due to her own anxiety about her relationship with student teacher Kazuya Kitamura. The trio summoned Fujita's spirit through the PA system and she inhabited the body of Mika. After departing from Mika's body the trio convinced Okuno to return to the music room and to apologize to her one last time. Okuno arrived and the three girls departed. Alone now, Okuno silently embraced her spirit and played the piano beside her until he could no longer feel her presence, seemingly allowing her to pass on. Okuno later transferred to a different school and the paranormal activity caused by Fujita's spirit ceased, however a single message was left behind. "Thank you, my dear teacher."
