Nezu (根津) is a character in The Silver Case. He is a programmer, controlling the entire city of Ward 24 as if it were a video game. He is one of the main antagonists of the game, and is the one behind many of the events that occur.
Appearance and Personality[edit]
Nezu is said to be a man in his 30s, but is mentally and physically a child. This is not due to having a silver eye.
It was said he lacked any kind of ambition, but had a supercomputer-level intellect, allowing him to manage the entire city on his own. He seems to have little regard for human life, treating them as pawns in his "game".
History[edit]
Nezu was an expert programmer chosen to oversee the development and management of Ward 24. He was put in place by Mayor Hachisuka, to control the city as if he were playing a city-management video game. He continued controlling the city for 20 years, maniupulating the populace as pawns. For an unknown reason, Nezu maintained the appearance and mind of a child, despite being a man in his 30s. He orchestrated the re-appearance of Kamui Uehara, as a sort of "in-game event" to test the city's system. On December 24th, 1999, he was finally confronted by Tetsugoro Kusabi and Akira at the top of the TV Tower, and was killed.
Etymology[edit]
- Nezu means "root" (根) (ne) and "haven, port, harbor, ferry" (津) (tsu/zu).
Trivia[edit]
